Having a good skincare routine is essential for any age, and it can make or break how your skin looks as you age. As an esthetician, you tend to become even more obsessed with skincare than you are with makeup. As I continue to get older, I find myself being even more picky and particular about what I use on my face than I ever thought possible! I tend to change the products I use in my daily skincare routine somewhat often depending on what I’m looking to remedy or what my skin is doing, however I always make sure to follow my full daily routine.
First Cleanse (Makeup Removing)
I’ve been using the Boscia Makeup Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil with their Konjac Sponge for years. This oil removes every bit of makeup without me having to rub too hard or use too much product. A full bottle lasts a good 4-6 months, and I switch out the sponge every 3 months as suggested. It’s good for all skin types, is formulated without sulfates and parabens, and uses jojoba leaf, which is an antioxidant that helps free radical damage. Basically, it’s packed with nutrients that help with anti-aging and nourishment for the skin.
Second Cleanse (Face Wash)
I tend to switch through cleansers somewhat often, but I usually always go back to the Glamglow Supercleanse. I like that it takes what most charcoal masks do for the face and puts it into a cleanser form. You know how you can feel your skin breathe when you’ve had a really good deep cleanse? That’s how it feels after using this cleanser every day. My face feels cleaner and feels completely refreshed.
There is a reason that Ole Henriksen’s Truth Serum has been at the top of the charts for years. This serum is perfect for overall anti-aging as it combats dryness, dullness, and increases firmness. It’s full of antioxidants and leaves you with glowing skin.
I am still on the search for the ultimate and perfect eye cream that I feel really takes care of all eye concerns. I also probably need to just drink more water. The Kiehl’s Youth Dose Eye Treatment is the best I have found in a long time. It really soaks into under-eye area leaving it hydrated and brighter, and concealer doesn’t end up creeping into lines after use. It helps with brightening up the skin, but I would like to use something that’s more aggressive in combating dark circles. I sometimes use this with the Origins GinZing Eye Cream, but I’m just not quite satisfied. Any recommendations are always welcome!
It may say moisturizer here, but this product is plenty more than just that! I have recently been introduced to the Sonia Roselli Water Balm. This balm is incredibly hydrating and can be used for multiple purposes. It’s great as a moisturizer and another dose for under the eyes. Use day and night, and you will see your skin liven up with hydration and smoothness.
Every morning and night, I do this routine. I have a number of other products and extra steps that I add in on a weekly basis or as a treatment as needed. Let me know in the comments below if you’d like to see what other products I use or if you’d like recommendations on any skincare that you’d like to try!
